    The Old Violin

    The strings of grandpa's violin
    Awaits the master's hands
    Setting in the corner
    Trying to understand
    Years have long past
Since his fingers stroked the strings
Invading tunes into the night time air
    Making the old violin sing
Memories of melodies now invade the air
Allowing my soul to hear what once was played
Now only dust covers its strings
Looking as if its been betrayed
The day will come when Angels will arrive
Taking my soul for a heavenly ride
The heavenly gates where all things come true
And Angels wipe the tears that have been cried
I will ask the angels at this special time
One front row center seat on God's heavenly shore
    Handing over the old violin
So grandpa can play the the strings once more © 2010

    Treason Upon Your Soul

A total of 11 church fires so far this year in Texas. I feel sorry for the congregations that have lost their home of worship and I also feel sorry for the individuals that are so filled with hate that they commit these tragedies. I wrote the following poem after the latest church fires on February 8th at Dover Baptist Church and Clear Spring Missionary Baptist Church. The churches are located about three miles apart near Tyler, Texas. http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/02/11/texas.church.fires/

    Nighttime sky fiery glow
    Sparked by embers
    That you control
    Your brunt offering
    That you conferee
    Serves the serpent
    From the tree

    I the Lord
    Weep the tears
    Not for my home
    That you impair
    For the treason
    That you extol
    Upon your soul

    I the Lord
    Will quench the fires
    From tears that flow
Weeping upon your soul © 2010

    Seven Seas

    Cradled between bow and stern
    Hewn with sweat and blood
Drawn and axed, split and shaved
    Built to oppose all floods
Keelson raised with grit and gore
Lifted nigh by might and wield
Pit and pitch, pegged and planked
    Bilge to bottom sealed
    Nighttime lore sets the sails
    Voyage upon seven seas
Mast and boom, trim and draft
    Rigged and full with breeze
    Listen mates to Satan's call
Lifted nigh by might and force
Wicked and black, pitched and tossed
    Satan controlled the course
    Hands from a watery grave
    Grasped and engulfed the hull
Lifted and dropped, pitched and tossed
    Satan's breath made the call
    Cradled between bow and stern
    Men with flesh and souls
Fear and aches, prayers and pain
Rudder of God is in control
    Nighttime sky velvet black
    Blankets the aquamarine
Quiet and dark, solitude and peace
    Now silence permeates the scene
    New dawn paints the sky
    Spreading peace upon the sea
Praise and thanks, tears and joy
Casting hope on seven seas   © 2010

Married the little girl that I played with in grade school while growing up. We are still married to this day. Time surely travels at the speed of light! Seems like yesterday.

Graduated from High School ... What a day to celebrate! High School was an event in my life that wasn't the best and I was very glad it was over with. Seemed to be a very stressful time both with school and fitting in with my class mates. I guess that is why I have attended any of my reunions ... ma

About Me

  • I would love to change people hearts to be more loving, caring, and understanding. We live in world where many people feel that it's thier job to judge others ... We have police officers, lawyers, and judges to do that ... so if your not one of these folks think before you speak and try to say something that is positive. Every person that you meet should feel better about them self after you have been with them ... guess what ... if they don't then you have missed an opportunity for true friendship. I will light the friendship candle once more and greet those at my front door.

Citizen Kane

Citizen Kane is often cited as being one of the most innovative works in the history of film. The American Film Institute placed it at number one in its list of the 100 greatest U.S. movies of all time in 1997 and again in the revised list of 2007. In a recent poll of film critics and directors conducted by the British Film Institute, Citizen Kane was ranked the number one best film of all time by both groups
