  • Endure

    Sometimes I forget to endure
When I no longer count the candles upon the cake
One more year has made the score
Two more friends I've greeted at my door
    Open hands I can give
Moving day to day to live
It has served me well to greet
Those who souls I have the chance to meet
If time is something you can spare
Please stop by and let me show you that I care ©2008

  • Fly Over Rainbows in the Sky

    Fly my pretties, fly
        over rainbows in the sky
Ruby red slippers can only stride
on yellow bricks that have been applied

    Judy Garland made the trip
visiting a Munchkin and a Witch
Storms of life bellows clouds in the sky
        allowing trips over rainbows thereby

Why o why cant life storms
        transform rainbows to conform
Blue Birds and Slippers may be the clue
        of how she flew

But if I could fly … I would over rainbows in the sky. ©2008

  • Road Warrior

Road Warrior tricks the clock that ticks
Miles of flight champion the cause
One more client on this day's call
Memory of miles is printed on the airline ticket slip

Grander of flight through heavens gate
Clouds wisp by with amazing rate
Road Warrior is on the trip to share
Client will know the Warrior does care

The pitch is made with much fan fare
Dog and pony show caused all to stare
Wrap up was done and quick exit through entry door
Now is time for the phone to ring at the company store

One last flight is in the fix
Road Warriors stomach feels empty and sick
A quick hot dog will do the trick
Last boarding call is running awfully quick

Last flight home leaves Road Warrior depleted
Clock strikes 12 as the Warrior enters his door
A night of sleep can not be ignored
Only dreams of sales is what's in store

Quick dreams will be his fate
Next flight scheduled at eight ©2008

  • Desires and Hopes

Lord please don't leave this night unfinished
Midnight dreams entwined the minutes to God's accord
Drifting through the Cosmos with each stroke of ore

Prophesy of the clock of time has foretold
Please understand this is my ineluctable fate
Consumed by this dream that allows me to recreate

Midnight oil is about to be squandered and spent
Let the minutes pass slowly as this time is dreamt
Grant me my dream, I humbly voluntarily consent

Cosmos weaving what could never be foreseen
Lord thanks for this lovely behind the world scene
Only desires and hopes will esteem this night of dreams ©2008

  • Canvas of Dreams

The canvas of emotions can no longer hold the paint
            Compassion drips without constraint
This night will paint the dreams
Weaving together two hearts by the seams
Two living souls asleep under star light's affair
Star Dust painting dreams to ensnare
    Hunter Fan twirls their emotions
Casting their dreams upon life's oceans
Pomegranate Yankee burns its golden glow
            Encasing their dreams in gold
Sleep they must as dreams are told
God paints the canvas to behold ©2008

  • Forgiveness

    Nocturnal night quiet and bleak
Can't help but wish that you were here to speak
I miss kissing your skin upon your cheek
Laying here afraid to even peek

The room seems empty and lonely
The cosmos knew that you were my only
An owl from elm tree yonder
Screeches its call and makes my mind wander

Silence seems deafening at times like this
Sickness strikes my body for a single kiss
If you read of my pain
And would like mend our broken chain

I will be the one to listen once more
I will be the one to open my heart's door
I will be the one that will kneel upon the floor
I will be one to ask for forgiveness once more

If the pain is too much to bare
I will set sail upon tears that we have shared
My boat will make its way with each stroke of oar
You will find me alone on some distant shore ©2008

  • A Cowboy's Dream

I danced with a dream on the marble court of love
Permitting the dream to gallop upon my inner soul
Inner bone of my marrow and my heart pierced with Cupid's arrow
I danced with hope and allowed fantasy to take control

The night was old and not all dreams are allowed to unfold
The light of new day vanished the marble court and all of this went away
Only star dust covering my sheets and hoof prints as receipts
Dreams mounted upon their high horses without remorse and galloped away ©2008

  • Simple Things

I miss the days we'd sneak out
Swimming at the Smoky Hill River just beyond the round-about

Times seemed simpler than they do now
We were best of friends and kept secrets somehow
We have both grown up and bought our own cars
Each got married and started dreaming towards the stars

Life seems so busy these days
    Seems like just being friends
    And simply having fun
A tough thing to get done these days

I crave the times that once were
Simple pleasures is what I desire for my cure
Maybe this can't be the life of simplicity
We live in a world now of specificity

    I will do my part
    Sharing the simple things
    That makes life great
Share a hug and let that be our fate

Let me smile to someone new
In hopes that a friendship can renew

Let me be the one holding the umbrella
    For some drenched fellow

Let me be the one … count me as the one
That will do the simple things to make life simply fun ©2008

  • Silhouetted Lovers

The cool breeze filtered through the camper window that night
Caused the curtains to dance in the moon light
    Shadows painted upon camper wall
Nature's canvas because of night fall
The night had robbed the light of day
The thief of light was here to stay
Nature's call was in full display
As night time hours ticked away
Upon the table the empty Merlot bottle of wine rests
The crystal glasses now empty seemed half dressed
The buzz of locust drowned the scene
Nature's sounds were there but they didn't intervene
Clothes were scattered about the floor
Painted to match the night's decor
The naked lore of man and woman were in full display
Silhouetted love of two souls were underway
Pulsing love of man's heaving chest
Moon light love was being expressed
Woman's naked desire caused the man to transpire
Buzz of locusts became nature's choir
    To this night’s love affair
The last heave of manly desires
Meets the needs of two as time seems to aspire
All is quiet now from nature's choir
As man and woman lay in silhouetted attire ©2008
