  • Fairy Tale Date

Last night angels did call and whispered the lovely news
Their message was clear for all to hear
The appointments in life must wait for the upcoming fairy tale date
It all seemed so key that I must immediately flee
I left behind the baggage of life all the worries, and strife
The winds of the cosmos carried me there and I didn’t even care
The journey raced by with momentum of light
Angels assured me this was the right flight
    A beginning was surely here
I felt at ease with no fear.
I was told to go Knock on the door
Of the cottage by the grocery store
When the door opened couldn’t believe my eyes
Your loveliness was a heavenly surprise
You invited me within your sanctuary of walls
Your hand led me down two halls
You had me set on the white linen couch and removed my shoes and socks
    The night seemed so vague
I do remember the kiss you laid upon my head
The next day I awoke in my white linen bed
    Just another dream
    I really wanted to scream
Why cant the news of last night and the wonderful flight
Be all it was suppose to be and right? I
I walked to the porcelain sink to get a fresh drink.
In the mirror before me was lipstick that you shed upon my face.

  • Universe of Peace

The pain of scars that do not show
Has caused the tears upon your cheek to flow
If I could remove you from this land
    Where people just don’t understand
We would go to place where love would be shared
Life would unfold with people whose hearts would care
The vast universe surely has this wonderful place
The twilight stars may guide our souls to come to a land that we would embrace
    The tears that once flowed
Would never ever have to show
We would walk among a universe of peace
All scars of hate would cease ©2008

  • Tunes

Kaleidoscope colors spun on vinyl disks of black
Spin on Spin on Spin on … with endless tracks
Tunes invade the matter of gray … and dye my world red
Let life take what may from me … but never let tunes be shred
When clock of time is all spent … may tunes of my life be dreamt

  • Seashore Dreams

The Merlot so rich from the glass
The waiter poured the last of it from the flask
The glow of the candle upon the table
Glowed a special gold as much as it was able
I raised my glass to toast
The love of two as I was trying to be the manly host
Her lips were small and seemed to glow
From the red lipstick that showed
I wanted the night to proceed
With as much love as I could possibly conceive
We both ordered the Salmon smoked on cedar board
Loved the special sauce that was poured
I could see a sparkle in her eye
Her words were careful as though she might be shy
The candle’s life that set the mood
Had given its all to ensure the evening meal was good
The night drifted on as the last of the Merlot was sipped
I asked if we should walk along the beach as I leaned over to give her a kiss
No answer was needed as she smiled
I took her hand as we walked down the isle
The new moon gave a golden glow
Wave after wave glistened with the moon’s awesome show
We walked for miles it seemed
Enjoying the moon lit universe as if this was all a dream
We walked back to our rooms from the night of moon lit show
I felt that I had somehow knew this lady from long ago
The next morning the waves from the night before were making their sounds for evermore
The sun peaked in through the window with care
To discover my covers were strewn everywhere
I realized then that my walk with the lady along waves that were cast
Vanished like the candle’s life through a dream that didn’t last
The warm shower trickled down my naked skin
I wondered if dreams that were cast could be dreamt again
As I was dressing for my new day
I looked at the white shirt from yesterday as it was laid
Upon the collar red lipstick had stained
From a love of a lady that I knew from long ago that couldn’t be explained
It gave me rise to this notion … that it was truly I that kissed the lady that I had knew from long ago
And it was I that walked for miles along the seashore
I closed my door of my room knowing that the dream wasn’t an intrusion into the unknown
Because of the red lipstick that clearly had shown. ©2008

  • Midas Touch®

The yellow rose that I planted a few years ago
Showed its beauty for the one season that it was allowed to bloom and exhibit its show
The name of the rose was Midas Touch®
The deep yellow petals seems to have some special touch
In 1994 it was a winner from the All American Rose society
I can see why as it was my most favorite variety
Maybe the reason for this to be
The yellow rose has always been a favorite color for any rose for me to see
Midas Touch was the one that really caught me eye
The year I planted it bloomed and bloomed under the bright sun of the Kansas sky
The winter that followed that first planting
Was extremely hard on many of my plantings
The ice and snow that blew upon the Kansas Plains
Advanced its force upon my favorite rose and its life was drained
As the spring approached and things begin to thaw
I was so in hopes that my favorite rose would waken to warmth of the spring call
But some things in life are not to be
My favorite rose lived only one season for me
But all is never lost as I have the memories of the fragrance that was heaven to behold
I’m glad I took the time to enjoy the fragrance of my special rose as we should never assume how the next year will unfold. ©2008

  • Canvas of Emotion

The artist brush filled with color
Spreads her emotions upon the canvas as if to discover
With each brush of color of oil
The dreams of the artist soul begins to unfold
The canvas of emotions comes to life as twirls of strokes are made throughout the night
Each special color is mixed with care
Spread upon the canvas sharing a dream that she wants to share
The aroma of paint has penetrated the air
The picture comes to life as it is painted with special care
The royal blue sky with wisps of clouds that swirl by
Brings the white canvas to life with clouds that form a living sky
The Christmas tower made from the pallet of paint
Shimmers and glows to show a beautiful saint
The sleigh that is parked outside on the white snow
Glistens with gold that seems to glow
The work of art that the artist has brought to life
Will adore the wall of someone’s home with delight  ©2008

  • Let me go … Let me go

The old man baited the last hook his hand always seemed to shake
He threw the last muddy bank line into the lake
He pulled the rope of the old trolling motor as it came to life with spit and sputter
The white rusty propeller turned into a water cutter
The catch this day was pretty good
The old plastic pickle pail was filled with catfish as it should
The sun came up over the hill by the lake
And caused a glare that made it hard on our eyes to take
The breeze from trolling back to the shore
Allowed me to reflect on the inner being of the old man’s core
You see I had knew him all my life even as a young lad
He was very special you see … he was my dad
I account to who I am to this day and what I have to say
Because of my dad and the way he raised me in his own way
He once said, “When your too big to learn
You are as big as you will ever get.”
One of his favorite lines, “Don’t let grass grow under your feet.”
I guess that one stuck more than any
I have been called a work alcoholic by many
Life seems so short these days
My time with my father has all slipped away
Memories of times of the past
Is what I have been left with at last
Those that ever fished for catfish will know
They do make a sound when brought on board
My father would say it was the catfish trying to say … “let me go”, “let me go”
    Ironic as this may seem
That was the hardest for me to do on the day when my father passed away
I can still hear him say “let me go … let me go”
Well I suppose that has happened to some degree
But memories of our life together will never be let go
They will live on forever more ©2008

  • Abandoned Love

Please don’t abandon me when we seem to not too agree.
Talk to me and let’s see if our hearts might come to see.
Life is way to short to let small things change a love that is true.
When we seem to not talk it sure makes my soul so blue.
Let me hold the one I love and discuss the things that make us as one.
    I promise to listen to what you have to say;
You’re the one that makes life fun every day.
I will light the friendship candle once more.
Let’s us come together and let me love the one I adore once more. ©2008

  • Swimming the Oceans so Blue

I wonder what it’s like to dive the oceans that are blue
I would swim with fish that display every color and hue
I would visit the sand that is upon the ocean floor
I would look inside a clam through its amazing door
I would watch a sea turtle swim along the way
I would enjoy the sounds of whales and what they have to say
I would take every picture of the beauty of the ocean below
I would share what the ocean has to show
I will make this dream a very special goal
I will surely find a scuba class and get enrolled
I will make a dream of mine come true
I will swim the oceans that are blue ©2008

  • Loving Memories

The park seemed empty that special day

We walked the path around the pond

Holding hands as we found our way

The mallard duck didn’t seem to mind

As we walked by his pond

The sun worked on the haze that day

    Water shimmered with the breeze

I heard your words of love to say

    You wanted more this day

The park bench by the foot bridge was begging us to rest

The naked beauty of nature seemed to call

View from this bench was the best

As I hugged you around your waist

You told me to relax you wanted to do the rest

The breeze felt warm upon naked skin that day

As you knelt to show your love to me in a special way

The sounds of love seemed to fit with natures call

As manhood’s dreams were drained this day by the pond

Memories of our day will always be fond
