  • The Proposal

    Caring thoughts was conveyed as the two lay upon the quilt that sunny day
    Brought tears of joy to the lady that he had come to adore
    She packed a picnic lunch for them to enjoy
    Laid out the old quilt that grandma had given her many years ago
    The lunch was packed with turkey meat on rye bread
    A bowl of cherries and some sliced cheese for the two to enjoy on this hot day
    She told the man of her dreams that she wanted to build his self esteem
    She dropped cherries one by one into the open mouth of the one she loved
    She giggled and played with the man of her dreams and tickled skin around his neck
    The joyful play that was displayed upon the quilt that day
    Melted two souls together in a very special way
    That day the God of the universe sewed the souls of two
    As the two proposed their love upon the quilt that grandma sewed many years ago. ©2008

  • Ink From the Poet’s Pen

    Ink from the poet’s pen
    Scribbles the letters of many words
    Begins the poem
    Gutter full of over drenched verbs
    Lifeless nouns praying to be picked
    Joined together at their hips
    Heaving breath of unheard words
    Drip no ink
    From the poet’s pen
    Screaming voice of a blank piece of paper
    Soundless matter of a wondering mind
    Force the words that flow from the pen this day
    Records the soul of what the poet has to say. ©2008

  • Plan for Destiny

    At this moment time is streaming past me at a high rate of speed
    The reason for this is beyond me
    The loud tunes of Van Halen have all left
    And each day as I grow older I feel deaf
    My face seems to grow wrinkles by the day
    I know my memory if failing so people say
    There are so many things out of my hands
    So many little things I don’t completely understand
    But I have come to realize the small things in life will carry me through
    A smile, a hug, a hand shake, and some time to listen will start a friendship to grow
    I learned these small things a long time ago
    So let time stream past me as fast as it can
    For I will create my own destiny as I have the plan ©2008

  • Procrastination

    Procrastination creeps and crawls into my mind
    Living in my world so unconfined
    Like a thief in the depressing night
    Fleece my dreams forthright

    Tomorrows will have to wait
    Yellow roses have bloomed of late
    Fragrance invades my sensibility
    Tomorrow’s dreams are hidden as a liability

    Procrastination creeps and crawls into my mind
    Living in my world just fine ©2008

  • Yankee Candle Encounter

    Yankee candle of Pomegranate Cider filled the room with aromatic perfume
    The glow of flame upon the table filled the room with gold.
    The Merlot Glasses now stand alone;
    They were once filled with rich red wine of Blackstone.
    The window open to the night air
    One could hear a distant dog barking as if to beware.
    The breeze upon the curtain this night;
    Caused the candle to flicker as if to excite.
    The floor was littered with clothes everywhere;
    As if they were thrown without care.
    The grandfather clock chimed its tune down the hall;
    As if it was marking the time for a great enthrall.
    Two lovers were naked upon the white sheets of the bed
    The silence of the night was enough to wake the dead.
    The pounding chest of man’s sexual desires;
    Brought two souls to meet the needs of what each requires.
    The closed eyes of the woman that he loved;
    Expressed the intense essence of his beloved.
    The silence is broken with a climax of two lovers upon the bed;
    The night was filled with joy for what was lovingly shed.
    The grandfather clock chimed its tune once more;
    As if to answer the end to what it had announced once before.
    The distant bark of the dog is now still.
    The last of Blackstone is emptied into the wine glasses as to refill.
    One last drink to the one that he adores on this special night;
    As the two toast that they will do this again so they can reunite.
    The Yankee Candle Flickers to an end;
    The flame gave its all to wrap its glow around two naked souls to the very end.
    They now lay embraced as two lovers;
    Fall asleep they must to dream the dreams of tomorrow’s encounters as if to discover.  ©2008

    You’re no longer there
    To hold my hand
    Alone I walk
    On some distant shore
    You left your prints
    On my heart long ago
    Waiting and walking

  • Precious Friendship

    This earth is filled with many wonders
    Salt water for as far as the eye can see
    Lush green jungles with every imaginable tree
    Soft cotton clouds that stretch for miles and miles
    Flowers that entice the nose to see
    Birds of every feather fly in every weather
    All these things are surely grand
    However the beauty of friendship is more precious than all of these
    The wonders of this earth will crumble to dust
    But friendships will last for a eternities of tomorrows as God has granted us this much ©2008

  • Neptune’s Love Affair

    The Blackstone Merlot tasted sweet that wonderful night;
    Just being with her for dinner was a diaphanous delight.
    The waiter brought the orange glazed salmon over rice;
    The potato oozed with butter that was baked twice.
    Candle cast a gold warmth upon the table cloth that night;
    Dinner allowed two friends to reunite.
    I wanted to look into her eyes and feel her breath upon my face.
    I wanted to lie down by the one I desire and submit a passionate embrace.
    The candle upon the table was about spent;
    When the decision to have desert was decided for this special event.
    Crum Brulee’ was the ultimate choice for desert this day.
    She ordered at the last minute coffee with Irish Cream Bailey.
    The candle gave it’s all and flickered to a end;
    Preparing a warm gold afterglow to the very end.
    We walked out of the quaint restaurant holding hands.
    How do I ask my friend for love so that she not misunderstand?
    A few steps down the walkway the night seems filled with sounds.
    The owl in a distant salt water pine could be heard all around.
    The ocean waves lapped at the sea shore.
    Sea Gulls were singing forever more.
    I turned to my special friend and asked if she would desire more:
    Time seemed to stop as I waited for an answer from the lady that I adore.
    She bowed her head;
    I felt the answer would be one that I would dread.
    She spoke softly and whispered that a walk by the sea would be so nice;
    I took her hand and her advice.
    We took our shoes off and I rolled up my slacks.
    Walked hand in hand as we made two sets of naked foot print tracks.
    The waves teased us to tip toe closer to the sea;
    Walk we did closer and closer and even closer and then run to flee.
    But luck was on the side of the sea this night.
    One greater wave caught us both and we were wet all right.
    I hugged her close as we were drenched from head to toe;
    Her skin felt warm and lovely as bent my head to kiss her neck below.
    The beach was empty this very night.
    Only the sounds of nature and glow of moonlight.
    She whispered softly that she would like to swim.
    And she unbuttoned my shirt as if the answer was yes to her whim.
    I unhooked the latch upon her white lace dress;
    The sounds of nature seemed awesome as we undressed.
    The glow of moonlight upon her lovely breasts
    I took her hand and we walked into Neptune’s bed that night;
    The warm water glowed with gold and absolutely everything was right.
    She wrapped her arms and legs around my naked soul;
    The love this night was nothing but the best that two souls could extol.
    With each rock of Neptune’s waves two lovers were granted one more second of play;
    The unending tune of this Neptune’s unending song brought two lovers together this way.
    The announcement of man and woman’s completed desires;
    Filled the air with the sound of what had just transpired.
    Two naked souls collapsed on that sandy beach;
    The distant owl could be heard to screech.
    Moonlight glow wrapped its hands around two satisfied souls of this dark night;
    Neptune’s bed allowed two friends to reunite. ©2008

  • Abandoned Friendships

    Scarecrow what have you scared away
    Lonely man made of hay
    Heart of stone paved with hate
    Ridicules smile upon your canvas face
    Many have walked down the yellow brick road
    No one … not one … knows
    The discarded friendships you make
    I will not abandon you my friend
    My friends too have all walked away
    Now I know the reason for your smile ©2008
