Road Warrior
Road Warrior tricks the clock that ticks
Miles of flight champion the cause
One more client on this day’s call
Memory of miles is printed on the airline ticket slipGrander of flight through heavens gate
Clouds wisp by with amazing rate
Road Warrior is on the trip to share
Client will know the Warrior does careThe pitch is made with much fan fare
Dog and pony show caused all to stare
Wrap up was done and quick exit through entry door
Now is time for the phone to ring at the company storeOne last flight is in the fix
Road Warriors stomach feels empty and sick
A quick hot dog will do the trick
Last boarding call is running awfully quickLast flight home leaves Road Warrior depleted
Clock strikes 12 as the Warrior enters his door
A night of sleep can not be ignored
Only dreams of sales is what’s in storeQuick dreams will be his fate
Next flight scheduled at eight ©2008

@NavalFluff - I use to have a job like that … not anymore thank goodness … it was STRESS STRESS STRESS.
Alight man another really sharp poem this had a nice crisp rhythm very well thought out… I do have one thing and this is just tiny “sales is what’s in store” like I said just tiny… Have a wonderful evening friend…
I agree Adam, thanks for the suggestion. By the way, I really enjoyed your poem about Jude. You did a fantastic work on that one.
Very cool–I liked your rhyme scheme!
