  • The Winds of Time

The winds of time they blow once more
They bang against the bedroom door
The lace curtain dances to an unknown tune
Oak leaf shadows sculpt patterns from the moon
Locusts buzz their never ending call
Drown out music of Van Halen playing in the hall
The night seems lonely without you here
Dreams of lost love penetrate without fear
The screech owl hoots its lonely call
One more sleepless night is about to fall
They say that time will heal our wounds
Maybe the winds of time will change our tune

  • This piece had some of the best lines that Ive seen you use in the times that Ive been reading your work…

“The lace curtain dances to an unknown tune” and the last line are just spot on…

  • @Adamission12 - Thank you Adam for your comment and also your ideas on some changes. I totally agree with your suggestions. Sometimes I read over and over the same writing and cant see the obvious. I have changed my poem to reflect your suggestions. Thanks again … have a GREAT week.
