Abandoned Friendships
Scarecrow what have you scared away
Lonely man made of hay
Heart of stone paved with hate
Ridicules smile upon your canvas face
Many have walked down the yellow brick road
No one … not one … knows
The discarded friendships you make
I will not abandon you my friend
My friends too have all walked away
Now I know the reason for your smile ©2008

I really liked the first 3 lines they stood out to me… I enjoyed the whole piece but those lines were just killer brother very good…
@Adamission12 - Thank you … I am trying some writings that do not necessarily rhyme. A new way of thinking for me … hard to break old habits. I do thank you for your comment and what lines stand out for you. I like those lines the best also by the way.
@stevieheart - I do that sometimes its a hard habbit to break rhyming is just so tempting…
Scarecrow, Scarecrow.
What secrets you hold
Heart so young in skin so old
Scarecrow, scarecrow.
Oh how you smile
Not with humour, but pure bile
Scarecrow, scarecrow
You don’t scare me
Scarecrow, scarecrow
I’ll set you free.
Zain
@DriftingDeadly - Awesome Zain … looks like you have written about a scarecrow as well. A scarecrow has such an enduring figure kind of mystical and scary. Your poem is GREAT … thanks for sharing.
Nice write. Judi
@jassmine - Thank you Judi for your comment to my poetry.
