The Piercing
The day had come for the pointed pieces of steel;
Two holes, three breaths, and some pain to feel.
The steel now rests between the skin of this male.
Held in place by two steel balls that finish the piercing detail.
I think through all the pain,
But never question the reason for this steel that I have gained.
A goal of mine that came about;
I am glad from my inner core without a doubt
The piercing of living comes from inner desire within

thank you. ^^
I’m going to subscribe to you, if that’s ok.
hm, is the steel literal or figurative? I don’t exactly understand.

@Alyxandri - It is real … surgical steel. I have always thought about having this done, finally set it as goal and completed the piercing. By the way your poetry is very nice. I like your writing style.
ohh. it all makes sense now. lol
I like piercings and tattoos that have meaning to them. art doesn’t have to have reason, but I like when it does.
& thanks. I like your poetry too…now that I understand it.

@Alyxandri - This piercing has special meaning for me in two ways. I have always thought that I would like to experience a piercing from a pain and healing point of view, after all Jesus was pierced for me and I will always be reminded of what he experienced during the piercing and also the healing process, and secondly I have always liked the masculine look of 10 gauge surgical steel bar bells from a artistic point of view. I watched the movie the “Bucket List” and afterwards … I was completely compelled to create my own bucket list. Not sure if you have seen that movie, but if you haven’t, I would think you would really enjoy it. In the movie Jack desides to get a tatoo as he had put that on his bucket list. I am now working through my own bucket list and of course this piercing was one item on mine. So glad you like piercing and tatoos. I haven’t got a tatoo and not sure I will at this point. It would have to be something special and something that met something to me, before I would get one. Wishing you best as you travel through this thing called life. May you find each day filled with many smiles.
