  • Secret of Life

    Is two better than one?
    I asked the master of the game of life.
    Depends on the game sometimes two, sometimes three, sometimes maybe even less.
    Life seems so confusing the games that come our way;
    How to choose the one that will twirl our earth and make life fun this very day.
    The master bowed his head as if to listen;
    I saw in his eye some sparkle start to glisten.
    O my friend he said with a puff on his pipe;
    It’s not the games of life that make life fun;
    It’s the friends that add up to greet you and that alone adds up to be a great sum.
    I see what you’re saying I told the master of game of life;
    The friends we meet along the way;
    Grants us the opportunity to choose what should be done that day.
    Another puff of his pipe and smoke twilled around his head;
    I saw that glisten in his eye as the wisdom of the centuries was shed.
    You my friend have come a long way;
    To understand the importance of life on this day.
    So tell me master what is the most important thing for me to know;
    When I meet the next person on my journey of life what do I need to show?
    Most of all my friend is that everyone on this earth wants people to show them love;
    Starts within the soul of person that greets the next like the love of two white doves.
    The master laid his pipe along the limb of the old walnut tree;
    He brewed two cups of fragrant tea.
    Sugar or honey he asked as he set the cups upon the stump;
    I could smell the tea set before me and said two sugar lumps.
    The master leaned backed against the walnut tree;
    He rested his cup of tea upon his knee.
    He said, the people you meet; will not know who you are or why your even there;
    But before they leave they need to know that you care.
    The master sipped his fragrant tea;
    I then knew the secret of life and what had to be.
    I thanked the master for his kindness as I finished my last sip of tea;
    And walked down the path of richness that had been granted to me.
    The sun of the new day peaked its head upon my bed;
    As I awoke from the night of dreams that filled my soul with the love that needed to be fed.  Now as I meet new souls along life’s highway;
    You will know before you leave that I am one that truly cares.
    If you have some time for a visit please set down and I will brew us some tea;
    Would you like some sugar or honey if you please? ©2008
