  • Simple Things

I miss the days we’d sneak out
Swimming at the Smoky Hill River just beyond the round-about

Times seemed simpler than they do now
We were best of friends and kept secrets somehow
We have both grown up and bought our own cars
Each got married and started dreaming towards the stars

Life seems so busy these days
    Seems like just being friends
    And simply having fun
A tough thing to get done these days

I crave the times that once were
Simple pleasures is what I desire for my cure
Maybe this can’t be the life of simplicity
We live in a world now of specificity

    I will do my part
    Sharing the simple things
    That makes life great
Share a hug and let that be our fate

Let me smile to someone new
In hopes that a friendship can renew

Let me be the one holding the umbrella
    For some drenched fellow

Let me be the one … count me as the one
That will do the simple things to make life simply fun ©2008

  • Silhouetted Lovers

The cool breeze filtered through the camper window that night
Caused the curtains to dance in the moon light
    Shadows painted upon camper wall
Nature’s canvas because of night fall
The night had robbed the light of day
The thief of light was here to stay
Nature’s call was in full display
As night time hours ticked away
Upon the table the empty Merlot bottle of wine rests
The crystal glasses now empty seemed half dressed
The buzz of locust drowned the scene
Nature’s sounds were there but they didn’t intervene
Clothes were scattered about the floor
Painted to match the night’s decor
The naked lore of man and woman were in full display
Silhouetted love of two souls were underway
Pulsing love of man’s heaving chest
Moon light love was being expressed
Woman’s naked desire caused the man to transpire
Buzz of locusts became nature’s choir
    To this night’s love affair
The last heave of manly desires
Meets the needs of two as time seems to aspire
All is quiet now from nature’s choir
As man and woman lay in silhouetted attire ©2008

  • A Lie

A lie creeps and crawls into a soul
Like termites it consumes away without control
    Empty destruction with sinful seduction
    The breath of a lie
Is a breath of death to a friendship goodbye ©2008
  • The Last Waltz

The moon swallowed the sun on our special day
Angels unfolded the dance floor of the Milky Way
Moon light affair waltzed into our life
As two lovers waltzed to celestial love of life

Time has ticked away the God given years
The two are still dancing through all the joy and tears
The love of two is played out day to day
One last waltz remains on the Milky Way

Only God knows the time and day ©2008

  • Destruction

    Runaway wind
    Invisible mask of destruction
    From where did you come
    Why so unconfined

    Wayward wind
    Onward to obstruction
    Look at what you become
    Why so unkind

    Your words slice the soul
    Without self-control ©2008

  • The Winds of Time

The winds of time they blow once more
They bang against the bedroom door
The lace curtain dances to an unknown tune
Oak leaf shadows sculpt patterns from the moon
Locusts buzz their never ending call
Drown out music of Van Halen playing in the hall
The night seems lonely without you here
Dreams of lost love penetrate without fear
The screech owl hoots its lonely call
One more sleepless night is about to fall
They say that time will heal our wounds
Maybe the winds of time will change our tune

  • The Massage

Did you know that last night the night before
I came knocking on your door
It was I who dared to come within
Only to impart what was needed to begin

I had to share this special event
Before this frosty night was spent
The crisp snow bequeaths light of the moon’s glow
    And icicles were dripping so

As I entered unknown to thee
The air was saturated with Burberry Brit cologne from me
There man and woman lay in slumber sleep
As if the lord was so to keep

Sleep you must and I dare not wake
Dreams were surely in the make
I pulled down white linen covers
    Splendor of beauty I discovered

I went gently to work and massaged special lotions
    Working fast with great devotion
The air now full of perfume
As I walked around the room

    The night was old
Covers without they would get cold
I pulled up white linen covers
    Man and woman were lovers

    I awoke the next day
    My head in disarray
The visit was real as far as I can perceive
But dreams that night seemed hard to believe

I lay in my bed there in the air was the smell of that special lotion
My mind worked and gave rise to this notion
That it was truly I that visited last night the night before
I came knocking on your door

If you wake from morning slumber
Burberry Brit cologne is fully encumbered
    Please then forgive my intrusion
As none of this was an illusion. ©2008

  • The Last Rose Petal

The rose that once stood above the crystal vase
Has lowered its petals so not to face

A card that reads “I am sorry”
Laid beside your cup of Earl Grey Tea as an offertory

The tears we shed that day were held by angels to this day
I have no right to ask for more
But you see you are the only one that I adore
The slavery of my heart this night
Cries for forgiveness with all my might

It is I that wants to dry the tear upon your cheek
    So our souls can speak

It is I that would like to mend the chain
And take away all this pain

It is I that will be the one that will open my heart’s door
And ask forgiveness as I kneel upon the floor

But if the pain is too much to quell
I will set sail upon tears that the angels have held
My boat will set sail with each stroke of oar
You will find me on some distance shore

As each petal of the rose falls away
My love for you will endure each and every day

They say time can heal the wounds once more
Please forgive me before I reach heaven’s door. ©2008

  • In The Arms of an Angel

In the arms of an angel
    Flying away from fear
Last mortal person left be bothered
    With your mortal problem
Most likely it’s your best friend
Why would you not tell them
    Why would you not dare
    There is comfort for you
Now in the arms of an angel
Light of true light is a waiting
May you find comfort there ©2008

  • Apology

An apology is the only way to help heal any hurt
    Caused by what you say
    It comes from the heart
    Packaged in a humble way
Repairing the damage in a very special way
The words start with a very special letter of the English alphabet
Ninth letter starting from the front
Is the one that you need to try
    It is the letter “I”
For you see it isn’t them, those, you, her, or him
That needs to start the repair
    The loneliest letter
That stands all alone that needs to humble itself and try
    It is the letter “I”
The world will come to a stop and listen
After you start with the letter “I”
Only to see if the words that follow
Ask for an apology from deep within the your soul
The time will seem to stop
As you humble yourself with all your control
You have showed that you’re human
    And mistakes you have made
Now you have shed the beast of pride
Humbly asked for forgiveness like a child
The universe will still twirl each and every day
But you have done the most to heal a hurt
In the most humble and caring way ©2008
